Wounded Knee

Posted by

You have see some of The Indian Portraits I have taken, and you can see how nobel and proud of their Heritage they are, here we have A Time in thier history of great sadness and grief. My Wifes Great Great Great Great grandfather was at the little big horn at age 17, and was a survivor of the Wounded Knee Massacre where he lost his Mother, Father, two brothers, his wife and child. This is what it looks like today.

Thanks Mariana, yes this wasnt really intended to be a photographic endevor, more of a statement, as I had been reading about the history of this all morning long. Its something that really didnt hit me when I was there, but now knowing more details, its a place I want to go back to.

The story of the Indian is a sad story and they could have all the reasons to be mad and angry. But as your picture shown they are just nice and happy people. I felt bad when I did read the story of Wounded Knee in the past and I'm not American. I can just imagine the pain and sadness.
Thanks for sharing this important memory with us.

This is a sad story but sometimes is good to look back and be sad as long as you don´t forget to look forward again. Great documentation.
